Eugene Charabot
Born in 1870, in Bar-sur-Loup (Alpes-Maritimes), PhD, Eugene Charabot first worked in the laboratory of organic chemistry, then he meets Leon Chiris, senator of his department, and became his secretary and his technical staff in their perfume factory in Grasse. In 1902, after his PhD, he became professor of applied chemistry at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (he keeps this chair until 1926). After 1918, it is associated with the senior director Hugues factory, a large firm perfumery transformed successively Charabot Morena House and House Charabot & Co. He invented and perfected many processes. Died in 1938.

The historic creation of scents at Haarmann & Reimer. Although nowadays many processes are digitally controlled or fully automated.
Heroin
Pic showing bottle of Heroin (diacetylmorphine), an addictive drug, was originally sold as a cough treatment. Heroin was a Bayer trademark, until World War I.
